This added to a balance on hand January. 1, 1920, gives a total of, $603,670. On December 31, v1920Nth balance on hand was $J61, 694.'-" ' ; ' ' r -.! Th 'folio-wing" turnovers had been made to the state: For Vnglers 1 nd hunter licenses and migratory chattels. $2697 ; to the federal government for declarations of Intention and petitions for citisenahlp, $1197 ; to the county treasurer, $106,075. The turnover to the law library was $5734. Karned court 1 fees amounted to $40,533 and rebates on litigation $285,838. A comparative -statement of fees ; earned toy the county clerk's office for th past four years shows a total earn ing forthe period of $406,4(4." By years the figures areas follows : 1917, $88,805; '19I8, $83,529: 1919, $113,629 ; 1920, tl- 99. The average was $101,616 per year, i The principal source of fees is from circuit court litigation and the recording of deeds and other instruments." Comparing i these items . the amount of circuit court fees earned in 1920 was $28,663 a against $35,209 in 1919. For recording r the fees tn 19ZO were $44,01 8as compared with $38,173 In 1919. In 1917 the fees earned in the circuit court were $32,340 as against $29,999 in 1918. Recording in "1917 yielded , my $24,296 and In 1918 $26,391.
