Child ; Hurled to Street; Injuries Said ;Few In full view of his father, who sat la an automobile parked double on Yam hill street between FJftr 'and Sixth streets. 6-year-old Andrew C. Baker' of Oregon City was - knocked down by . a machine driven by J. A. Barbour of Oar den Home, Or at 2 p. nu. Thursday. The boy had alighted from his father's, ma chine and started across the street, when his mother, standing on the. sidewalk near the family car, .called; to him He turned back directly In front of the car driven by- Barbour, who told-the police he could not turn to one, side because of the parked automobiles.' f. i i t ; 1 4 When the boy was struck, his father and pedestrians who saw It believed; the boy bad been killed. However, he helped himself up and -ran over to bis father's machine. He was taken to Dr. O. W. Spencer, in the Selling building, where his injuries were : treated. -; The boy's father, reported to the police that he was suffering with a bruised side which might' cause some later developments.
