Carlton ! as vice president, and A C Hampton, super intendent of La Grande- schools, as di rector, succeeding W. C. Alderson. Bandit Takes His Money and Then Coolly Shoots Him Everett. Wash., July 1S.WI. N. &V Shot down with calm d (libera t ion by a masked bandit who fired from ihe rear. Olaf Bergman, logger, is dying in a hospital at Sultan, a logging and min ing town back in the hills from Everett. Bergman. Bert , Nelson and a logger nsmed Johnson were occupying the same bunkhouae at a logging camp four miles in the woods from Sultan. Late Sunday- afternoon a bandit . masked with a blue bandana suddenly appeared at the door. . ". - .' He -co so polled Kelson to tie Bergman end Johnson, and himself tied-Nelson. From Bergman he secured $900 in cash end about $10 additional from the other two. Just before leaving,, it r is said, the bandit coolly shot Bergman in the back. Posses are searching the hills.
