This first step in the liquidation of the United States Grain Corporation returns to ths treasury 3S0,lnu, uiu at un asms fiscal year in which it wa withdrawn, and ia the total amount drawn from the treasury by the United States Grain Corporation of the 81,000,000.000 appropriated for its use by congress on March 4. 1919. The $150,000,000 original capital of the corporation will be returned to the treas ury in full in the final liquidation of the United States Grain . Corporation now in process. Six ships now loading wheat and flour in the harbor will sail within a few days. They Will move about 20,000 tons of flour and 29,000 tons of wheat, Two : more boats sre due to srrive Friday. R. company and the O-W. R. & N. company. Although the crop is only about two-thirds of what Is was last-season, the prices hsve soared so ths growers will maks more than other years ss the poorest grade of cherries srs selling at 15e per pound snd are selling at the stores ia small boxes at 20c per pound. ..:..,. , The prune crop is good in some localities. One orchard will be loaded snd the next will be without fruit. It is thought that the yield is as good as normal, and ths prices better. It. is expected that ths apple yield will be about half of last year which was an excep tionally fine year. The strawberry crop 1m practically over and the rowers appear well satisfied with results. The pries was better, ths yield as good and con siderable mors acreage.
