Twenty dissenting deputies have "de clared their Intention of running for reelection on a new ticket. They maintain that the policy of the ma jority Is too radical and Bolshevistic. "Trouble first arose over the exclu sion of several moderates from the Fed eration de la Seine," said M. Brunei, one of the dissenters. "During the war they had voted with the government for the cause of the national defense and since the armistice they had re fused to sympathize with the Bolshevist excesses In Russia. ThlB the extremist majority regarded ns treason . to the cause. With thflr views, however, we agreed and therefore had to support the men who had expressed tjiem. and we demanded their reinstatement. Now that their unity has been destroyed the Socialists will no longer be regarded as the strong est group In parliament and bourgeois cabinets will no longer have to- make such large concessions to get the coop eration of the Socialist leaders. Italian news papers show a tendency to descend from their lofty pedestal of exaltation over the Flume situation, The propaganda la less intense and anxiety Is shown over the reported Inability of the peace con ference and Ttttoni to reach an agree ment However, all concur In showing satisfaction over the apparent inability to oust Lieutenant Colonel D'Annuniio from Flume, whatever solution may be found. In the different circles it is ex pected that a crisis will be reached in a few days. Some alarm is expressed over a report that Serbia has called classes for "mill. tary exercise." The Italians still have 2,000.000 men mobilized, including a great number of higher rank officers. Apparently, this is due more to fear of social trouble caused by lack of work for the soldiers than by the prospect of military action. It is reported here that owing to the lack of discipline among the troops in East Flume the Italians will evacuate the territory as far as the bridge con necting Flume with Sussak. the Jugo slavs, with the consent of the Italians, occupying Sussak. It Is also reported that Italian soldiers are deserting their posts to have a good time In Flume. Jamaica Is Assured That It Is Not to Be Ceded by England By B. W.
