POPE and daughter Mary were visit ors in the city with Colonel Pope for a few days during the past week, stopping at the Portland hotel, Mrs. Pope is a daughter, of the late Senator and Mrs. Levi Ankeny of Walla Walla and went to school in Portland. Malboeuf, on Willamette Heights, by the Rev. A. A. Morrison. The brfde was charming in a grown of white satin made in simple mode with pearl trimmings. She vore the full wod dlna ve'l which was caught with a band of orangre blossoms. Her flowers were orchids and Bride roses. Miss Char lotte Malboeuf, maid of honor, was growned in pink crepe de chine with liver. Her flowers were Columbia roses. Mrs. A. A. Phinney of Seattle, a sister of the bride, was matron of honor and wore a smart frock of pink repe georgette. L,IUle Dorothy Mo 1'herson as flower girl wore white tulle and carried a" basket of Cecil Branner roses. Rayrnoni' Williams was best man. The' bridrtl music was played by Kdgar E. Cpurson. Tall cathedral candles flickered at either side of the Improvised altar which was formed of blue delphinium, white asters and vine maple, before which the service was read by Dean R. T. Hicks of St Stephens Pro-cathedral. The wedding music was played throughout the ceremony by David p. Campbell. The bridal hymn was acfng, preceding the service, by Miss Charlotte Banfield. Old Ivory satin and rose point lace were used for the wedding gown, which was draped in smart mode, with lace sleeves and a unique headdress of lare from which the wedding veil fell in filmy folds to the hem of the gown. The bridal bouquet was bride roses. Miss Grethen Colton and Miss Dorothy Dix on of Kugene' gowned in frocks of pink and blue organdie were the bridal at tendants. Each wore a large picture hat and carried a shower bouquet of Ophelia roses. The Misses Evelyn and Mary Alice Meyer were the dainty rib bon bearers for the bridal procession and were attended by Master Dennison Lawrence and Amos Lawrence. Stan ford Anderson was the bridegroom's only attendant. An informal wedding reception followed the " ceremony. The bride has an unusually large circle of friends in the city. She ha been a student at the University of Oregon and is a member of Alpha Phi. of the University of Oregon chapter. Mr. Metcslf is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Metcalf of Danville, Ky., where he will take hla bride to live. In a charming yetting of roses and carnations the marriage of Miss For rest Geneva Erros and A. F. Fisher, both of Portland, was solemnized at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Thomas Fleming of Forest Grove, on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The bride was gowned in Ivory crepe geor gette and carried a lovely bouquet of Bride roses. Miss Verna Fleming, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Her gown was of peach toned silk and her flowers were roses. W. Freres of Port land attended the bridegroom. The bride was given in marriage by her father, W. H. Erros of Portland. Following the ring ceremony at which the Rev. W. Walter Blair officiated, an informal re ception was held. The wedding music was played by Malcolm H. Hawke, son of Dr. Hawke of Forest Grove. The bridegroom is interested in the Western Mineral Federation corporation of Ari zona and they expect to leave for San Francisco In a few days to make their home. A. delightful surprise shower In honor of Miss Marie Duback, whose engage ment was recently announced, was given ThursdSy evening by Miss Velma Hays at the latter's home, 556 East Salmon street The apartment was charmingly decorated with Japanese lanterns, with wreaths of Oregon grape interlaced with lavender chrysanthemums. The guests attired in Japanese kimonos, sat on cushions on the floor after being directed to their places by little Japanese-fan place cards. After the guest of honor had discovered many beautiful and use ful gifts behind a huge Japanese um brella, dainty refreshments after the Oriental style were served, including tea in tiny Japanese teacups. The guests Included Miss Marie Duback, Mrs. J. D. Duback,' Mr. and Mrs. H. Hayes. Mrs. P. M. McBride, the Misses Florence Jolayson, Velma and Leita Hays, Nona Becker.
