High Prices '-As long as there Is a big demand for meat at high, prices in the eastern and European, markets, consumers on tha Pacific coast can expect to pay con tinued hlaTh prices for all cuts. -This is tha opinion of C. H. Frye, Pacific coast meat packer, who controls a string of over 2S branch houses and markets from San Francisco to Alaska. The beef strike in South America figures -very prominently In holding- up the prices of beef, according to Mr.Ftye. as most of the products of this kind were shipped from South America, to Europe. Western packers can therefore get better prices for their meats dumped off at New York than by selling to retailers on- the Pa cific coast. Mr. , Frye spent the early part of this week in Portland, where he has recently opened a branch in addi tion to the one already her. Accom panied by Mm. Frye he is on his way to San Francisco. While in California, they expect to make an extensive tour covering Yosemite valley and other points of interest. -. Sutherlin Has Academy j "Things are looking pretty ' nice at Sutherlin." said F.
