P, Strandborg. . v fGrand Army Veteran Takes Bride; Cupid Is Busy at Encampment Even Grand army veterans are net Immune to the darts of cupid, as is evidenced by a romance which led to the marriage -of Calvin Newton Swine- ford of San Francisco, who attended the encampment in August, and Mrs. Ed' ward Morony, of Portland. More than 60 years' ago Mr. Swine ford and Edward Morony were connected with the steamboat service on the Wil lamette and . Columbia rivers. Finally, both men married and - their families became acquainted. Mr. Swineford moved to California - in 187e and did not visit Portland until August of this year, when the encampment brought him to his old home. v f Here he met again Mrs. Morony.
