Traffic Accidents Costly Three per sons were killed and 64 were injured ia 397 traffic accidents in Portland during July, according to the report of Captain Harms. Fines imposed in the munic ipal court for violation of the traffic laws totaled J4126.50. The traffic de partment estimated that $15,000 dam age was done to automobiles In the acr cldents. The regulations govern all British and Canadian citizens in the United Ctates. including those who have taken out first papers, between the ages of 20 and 44 Inclusive, provided they have rfot been actually inducted into military service of the United States. Within 60 days from the date of ex change of ratifications, or until Sep tember 28, British and Canadian sub jects between the ages of 21 and 30, or of United States draft age, may -voluntarily enlist In trie British or Canadian army. At the end of this period, if they have not enlisted, they will become liable to military service under the United States draft law. A new paw will be passed by congress British and Canadian subjects between the ages Of 31 and 44 inclusive, and those of 20 years of. age. Within 30 days after the data ; of registration, if they fall to enlist in the British or Canadian army, they will be liable to induction in the military service of the United States. Applications for exemption must be forwarded to the British ambassador at Washington, D. Divorce decrees Wednesday were granted plain tiffs in the following cases : Tekla Ma tilda Taylor versus Robert Lee Taylor, on the grounds of alleged desertion and failure to support his family, and Amy Ream versus Rolando P.
