Frailer, DrlTlng- Speed Bag-, Is Lectured In Cosrt By Judge Rossman Dlipoies of Bug To Special Policeman "When a judge arrests a man it sure grets a fellow into trouble," is the senti ment expressed by E. J. Praxler, who was arrested Sunday by Judge Rossman on a charge of speeding and reckless driving. Frazier is said to have been driving his "speed bug" past the judge's home in a reckless manner, so the judge made use of the authority with whtchjie is vested. Fraaier lives in Eugene, so in order to assure his appearance in court the following day the Judge ordered hla ma chine locked up. When Frasler ap peared In court the judge discharged him after administering a good lecture. With face aglow Frazier left the court room, but when he reached the street he found that the police had put a padlock on his machine. Inquiry revealed that he was now ar rested by the police for driving a ma chine with the wrong license tags. Frazier was driving a racing Mercer and the tags 35,297, which were- on the machine were sent to H. H. Nestle of Leaburg, Or., to be used on a Reo car. iraxier men enaeavorea 10 ex plain to the police that the car had been seized on a mechanic's lien and that the plates had been taken from another machine -and put on the Mercer. In order to get out of his trouble Frazier sold the machine, police padlock and all for 250 cash to a special officer. Hotel Manager to Be Guest at Dinner E. H. Bernegger, manager of the Hotel Benson, will be the dinner guest of local hotel managers at the Benson Wednes day night, in honor of his admission to the United States army. He will leave for Camp Lewis next Thursday. Mr. Bernegger has recently been getting pointers on military affairs as a mem ber of the Multnomah Guard. He was dissuaded by his advisers, from attempt ing to enter the aviation service be cause he wears glasses. He has been connected with hotels -In Portland (for the past seven years, his first duties in this line being as a mem ber of the staff of the Multnomah hotel.
