Is to be cast aside for robes of rejoicing. . In cathedral, in church, in chapel, everr talace where those prof easing the Christian faith congregate, will rise the sona of praise. April 6. with a splendid enthusiasm manifested. The meeting was "preceded by a co-operative dinner served to about 200 by the ladles of of the church. Tlrit Christian. While Methodist churches as a rule do not make any very elaborate prep arations for church festivals, they have nevertheless made more thai ordinary JJana for observing Easter. ' They have given unusual consider ation this year to the details of serv ice and song renditions. 1 . .Efforts have been bent to convey in the services the triumphant spirit of the day. Methodist churches of Port land, therefore, have announced pro grams for Easter that are perhaps more replete than any heretofore First Method let. Easter Bundsy will be fittingly observed ai the Ffrst Methodist Episcopal church. The services of the day will begin with an "Eajter Salutation Service" it 7:45 o'clock in tie morning. The regular morning service will begin at 10:30 and the sermon by Dr. SCkn field will be upon tho theme: "The Resurre: tion:" Dr. PtanflekTa evening sermon will chal lenge the attention -t all who have lost friends or loved ones or had their minds di rected toward the things after death.
