Oregon Agricultural College, Corval lis. Or., Nov. 21. Coach Pipal has tosen driving the Aggie football squad ahead at a, heavy pace during the past week, in preparation for- the annual vdah with the University of Oregon hee next Saturday. Instead of a slump, as nilght have been expected following a big game, the defeat which Washing ton, tied onto the Aggies has only served to put more fight into the team. ' Secret practice' has been held every evwring- of this week. 'Last -Wednesday the freshman forces were lined up against .the varsity for; a practice scrimmage, the varsity getting away for a single touchdown and holding the speedy first year, eleven from scor ing. . The line plunging done by Bissett and Bixby put on a much better 'ap pearance than it has up to this time. Darkhorse Newman has-been seen on the field but very little since the rnorthern trip was madeand in his absence Bixby has been holding down the berth, at fullback to a good aavan taffe. 1 McNeil . received numerous bruises to ' his toes In the Washington game, and has been unable to get nu feet. '' Instruction in the art of protecting the kicker has been drilled into the backfield .thls week, the lack of which protection, was plainly evident in the Washington game, when numerous at tempts to punt by the Aggies were smeared. Hubbard is consistently get ting his punts off higher and with more speed. With plans well in hand for the first annual home coming at the college, preparations are being made for one of the' largest crowds . ever gathered to gether on th9 (X A. O. campus.
