To all the members of the association wl little silken bag has been eent out in to invitation In which -will be placed a coin for each year of the guests' age. A penny, a nickel, a dime or a dollar, any one of them will be accepted to make the years of , the donor's age. Tbe public is also invited to attend. The large membership of the association pre cluded sending out invitations to others than members, but the affair is open to the public and with or without the little silken bag. all the friends Of ' the Visiting Nurses with their contributions will be welcomed toajorrow afternoon. .,.,.-,. . The Charity ball Thursday evening, which was given at the Hotel Halt Bom&h fof the benefit of the Woman's Exchange, was a brilliant success. Throngs of smartly dressed women and men of Portland society, within and without the. narrower , confines of its exclusive circles, were present. The entire mezzanine floor of the hotel was turned over to the guests. i .The honors for the' success which crowned the, ball go to the committee from the Exchange board, which in cluded: Mm.
