Professor Charles O. Anthony of Saratoga Springs, N. T., consulting engineer for the Mineral Springs company of that city and regarded as a leading author ity on mineral waters, the development of their sources and their' commercial and sanitary uses, delivered a lecture before the Medford Commercial club Saturday evening, in which he declared it to be his opinion that the mineral water and carbonic acid gas resources in Rogue river valley are as extensive as those at Saratoga. , Could Bevelop WeHs. He believes . that carbonic add gas wells could be successfully sunk in many parts of this valley. He sug gested to, his deeply interested audi ence that carbonic acid" gas is making millionaires in New 3-Xork very rap idly., owing , to the great value, of the gaa and the many commercial uses foe . it. He also said that the lltbia and sulphur waters of those springs are more beneficial to humankind used a bath than for Internal appllca tlon, except when the. system requires the medicines they contain. - Plaa Is Outlined. Professor Anthony also declared that the waters of those springs may be piped to Medford, a distance of 14. miles, carrying . their gases with them; that a pressure of 42 pounds will main tain the gases in their natural combina tion with the liquid, and that we have gravity pressure, of . more than 300 pounds in that distance, with a fall of more than 600 feet.'
