Trap shooting, the sport alluring, is becoming one of the national sport?. The increase in the number of shoot ers during tne last couple of years has been remarkable. Ixi'-al shooters are wondering what rlasg Oregon will be ranked hi under the new classification rule adopted by tTie interstate association at its last a-nnual meeting. TlV- plan calls for the 4$ states to be placed in four classes, namely A. H, C. and I. for t.".c associ ation's contributions to state tourna ments to be made ln accordance with this classification. Kach state tour nament in class A will receive J250; each state tournament in cla-s B will receive $225: each state tournament in class c will receive $200 arxl each tournament in class D will receive Jlua. It is believed here that the pop ulation of the state should also ftg'-re in the distribution, as Oregon mani festly could nut hold so many tour naments as Pennsylvania. President Kverding of the rortland Gun eluh recommended in his letter to the annual meeting of the Inter Hate association that it adopt, the plan that ho miule public during the staging of the Sportsmen association of the Xorthwost tournament here lat year. It was Kvcrding's Idea to dis tribute the big tournaments on the Pa cific coast so that practically all the nhooters could go to them Instead of holding them one or two weeks apart. From press dispatches, the idea was favored by a number of the directors of the Interstate association. Portland's first two ois in Fri day is game were aiored alter some cltverly executed stick work on the part of lummy l'underdale- and "Moose" Johnson. Dunderd.ile put the puck past Holmes tor the first count, by ducking the former Montre al net man. He pulled Holmes to the right side of the net and then shot the puck past him at the left. "Moose" carried the puck the entire length of the rink and stick handled through the Seatt'c defense and around the net and then with a ijuick shot put it into the enclosure. That the officials of the Pacific Coast Hookey league are going to do away with fighting between the play ers .s evident by the way the lines, are being slapped onto the players. Tangles between the Portland and Se attle players in the two games lias en riched the league treasury $16.
