They ad vised him that he had as good birds as anybody and that they could not I eat them His winnings at San Franciyo showed that these conclusions were correct. Answers to these ciue&tlons weie es sayed at a meeting of loo apartment house owners or operators at a meet ing last Monday night in the Central library. Speakers were K. B. MeNaughtoii. Robert Strong. W. D. Whit'onib and H. Goehler. It was admitted that the average apartment house owner does not know what it costs to operate the establish ment. A final recommendation, was that pre fits be made more secure not by raising rents to tenants, but by prac tice of greater efficiency in manage ment, including the abolishing of un necessary expenses. Four thousand Polish towns have been burned, millions of Polish people are starving and the condition of Poland is more desperate than Bel gium at her worst. Director Vernon Kellogg of the Belgian relief commis sion today told American Ambassador Gerard.
