Probably never before was a city of this size so well prepared to care for a- record breaking crowd. Thousands of others are expected to throng the downtown streets, ias the festivities in connec tion with the opening will not be con fined to the exposition grounds alone. Hotels Pilling Up. liotels and apartment houses are rapidly filling up today, and reserva tions have practically swamped them. Trains arriving are heavily loaded, and carrying extra cars. Coastwise steam ships are bringing hundreds more. "We ae practically ' ready for- the opening today," said President David son. "We have notified all who haVe concessions on the Isthmus that they roust be ready -Thursday evening, and the exhibit buildings are rapidly fill ing. The display will be a revelation to those who have not visited the grounds." An army of workmen is busy, "day and night, completing the work in the big buildings. The last of the scaf- . folding has been removed from every building and there will be nothing to indicate, on the opening day, that ths fair is not complete, according to all . the exposition officials. All BTLlrtlt Cimlnl . An all night carnival will reign, starting at sunttet Thursday. Not un til daybreak Friday are the crowds ex pected to disperse. There will be a short formal dedication program at the exposition grounds Thursday eve ning, night pageants and a great dis play of fireworks, but practically all of the program will be informal, Friday the dedication festivities con tinue with parades and formal exercises.
