The erection of the largest flagpole In the worldrrwhtch was sent dowfn from Oregon and is now in place at the comer of the site on which the Oregon building stands, also will be shown. C. C. Chapman will give an address on the "Benefits of reoperation" and Melvln Wlnstock will offer some suggestions for the financing of the work of the proposed iipw organization. There will be no charge for admis sion. Mount Hood' Will Be Illuminated Red Tire Will Be Burned on Crater Bock on the, Bight of Fourth of July. Red fire wlU be burned on Crater rock. Mount Hood, ' on the night of July Fourth- 4ut it i not certain that the. llluminatibn will be visible from Portland. The display is planned by a party from Government Camp, but only a small quantity of powder will be burned, as the illumination is in tended principally- for the benefit "of a party from the Portland T.' M. C. A. and other excursionists who will be On the mountain that- night. The party will leave Portland this evening and will spend the night at Hood, lUver. During the past month but 276 blushing brides were led to the altar in this county, according to the recoMl, despite the fact that. June was specially set aside for weddings. During June, 1913, i portion of which' came, under the medi cal examination law. 311" licenses were Issued, and in the same month of 1912, . . when there was no such legal provi sion, the licenses numbered 429. The fees dropped from $1287 in June, 1912, to S2S for the month Just ended.
