Weinstein (Eirrieda Heller) were the honor guests Saturday evening at a delight ful dinner party presided over by Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Walker ih their Irv ington. home in East Twenty-sixth street. There were covers for eight. including the most intimate friends of the honor guests and the hosts. The affair, was planned as a farewell to the Weinsteins, who left Sunday morning for Chicago, where they will make their home. An enjoyable evening was passed in lards and" music. The rooms were daintily decorated with the pink rambler roses arranged In artistic baskets, about the rooms. ' Decree of Honor. Friday afternoon Mrs. Ida Basier and Mrs. Pearl Young entertained the mem bers of Tabor lodge and visiting mem bers of the Degree of Honor at their homes on Seventy-sixth street. Forty ladles enjoyed the hospitality of the hostesses. A musical and literary pro gram was given by the following per sons: Recitation, Mies Gladys Gorm; instrumental selections, Miss, Ryder and Garth Young, and vocal solo by Mrs. Josephine Kling. Lovick Pierce Law, the pas tor who succeeds Rev. J. Hardy Ben nett as' pastor of the First Methodist church,, south, at Grand avenue and Multnomah streets, has arrived . In Portland from his former home at Siloam Springs, Ark. He delivered his first sermon Sunday. Mr. Bennett resigned to take up the work of. the Anti-Saloon league. . The new pastor has been a leading southern evangelist for 14 years, and in order to take up this pastorate cancelled appointments for a year ahead. His wife is a dramatic so prano and had charge of the music at his revivals. ' Mr. Law held a revival here three years ago and is expected to do much in the upbuilding of the-local, church. Later In the summer he- expects to re turn to Atlanta, Ga., for a month's protracted meeting.
