In the Yeon Building Alder Street Entrance Beginning Tuesday, June 16 For purpose , of this Exhi bition, the famous Whittall Carpet Loom has been broughtr at great expense, from; Wor cester, Mass., and an expert from the mills will be present to explain the different pro- cesses in Rug Making. The Loom is a duplicate of those used in the Factory and as may be seen from the illustration, is no toy, but a most marvellous ly complex piece of . highly ef ficient modern machinery. This is the first Carpet Weaving Demonstration of its kind ever held in Portland, and it may be the last opportunity ;to Jearn the process at first hand. Every step in the evo lution of the finished carpet rnJii 4rrm raw rrrt stage is plainly visible and easily understood the -loom operates at a purposely slow speed, so that no stage may escape the observer. The ex hibit will prove entertaining, instructive and eminently useful a valuable aid in the choosing of floor coverings. A special invitation is extended to teachers, pupils, technical and textile students who will value highly the educational experience that this exhibition affords. The Whittall Loom has been well described as "a simply wonderful yet wonderfully simple machine" --and the Meier & Frank Company cordially invite you to see it in operation. - BEGINNING TUESDAY In the Yeon Building, Alder St., Near Fifth. 1 El Jif - JrJm PlPi?
