A copy of a photograph of the first choir of the Taylor Street Methodist Kplacopal church, taken in 1850, will be one of the many pictures and slides to be shown by George L. Himes, as sistant secretary of the Oregon His torical society, at the birthday party to be given In honor of the Rev. John (Father) J. Flinn tomorrow night. The choir was organized In Decem tr,1850, and the original picture was taken by James R. Roberts with a daguerreotype outfit which he pur chased flrotu Dr. Dorsey S. Baker, who conducted a store at the corner of Front ad Alder streets. Mr. Roberts later sold the outfit to D. II. Hondce. 1 The group In the picture stood on the west side of First street Just south of Stark, when they posed for Mr. Rob erts' camera. The original daguerreotype from which the photograph in Mrs. Illmes' possession was taken, was owned by Mrs. E. li. Comfort, a member of the choir, who in the early fifties moved from Portland to The Dalles, and thence to Balem. Those represented in the picture In clude Miss Mary Davis (afterwards Mrs. D. Wi Burnslde). Mrs. K. B. Com fort. Miss Mary Purple, Mrs. George A. Barnes, Miss Emily Roberts (after wards Mrs. E. IL Griffin), Miss Char lotte Barnes (afterwards Mrs. John Scott), Miss Sarah Davis (afterwards Mrs. George L. Story), Miss Evallne Chapman (afterwards Mrs. Simon B. Negro May Face Serious Charge Federal Officer Met at Boor With Qaa; Berolrer Wrested Away Prom Man! Awaiting Grand Jury. J. W. Hamilton, negro, was brought to Portland yesterday morning by Dep uty United States Marshal Fuller from Klamath Falls,, where he was arrested for aelling whiskey on the Klamath reservation. Hamilton was arrested Friday In his cabin at the outskirts of tha city. He came to the door, when the officers rapped, according; to Fuller, armed with a .45 caliber pistol.
