The Ore gon Lumbar company, owner of the sawmill plant at Dee, on the line of ( the Mount Hood railroad, has filed suit In the Hood River county circuit court to enjoin the East Fork Irrigation die- ' triet from diverting the waters of , Hood'river Into the proposed enlarged : ditch of the district The Irrigation distriot'was recently organized under the provisions of the state lawa and the members In the district have aa : thorised the issuance and sale of $160 000 worth of water bonds with which to purchase the plant of the East Fork Irrigation .company now supplying water on the east side of the Hood River vajley. The present system of the East Fork Irrigation company is owned and operated by a private cor s po ration, while the East Fork Irrtga - Uon district Will be a mutual and co- ,j operative concern. It Is said by some or tne property owners in tne newly .organised district that It will require the Issuance of additional bonds in order to supply with water the 13,000 acres to be Included In the. district. The Oregon Lumber company claims prior rights to the use of the water. It Is said by members of the district that the pending litigation will prevent the sale of the $1 50,000 bond Issue that has been voted while a number of property owners 1ft the newly organ ised district will now oppose the sale of the bonds until assured that the water can be secured for the district Attorney E. C. Smith of Hood River and Attorneys Huntington & Wilson of Portland are representing the Ore gon Lumber company in the suit GOOD YEAR FOR DAIRY AT TROUTLAKE, WASH. Troutlake. Wash., Jan. 16. The an nual report of the secretary of the .Troutlake Dairy association, shows an Increase of dairy cows and cream In Troutlao valley. The board of directors of the association is sanguine over the outlook for the future in dairy inter ests of the district which supplies the local creamery. More Interest is being- taken in dairying in Troutlake valley, more and better butter pro ducing cattle are being added to local herds and It Is the Intention of more settlers to go Into dairy work here than before. During the year 47,650 pounds of butterfat were received at the local factory, frorn. which 69,205 pounds of butter were fnttde. The highest price paid her for but terfat during the year was 38 cents a pound and the lowest was 28, cents a pound. The increase In output over 1913 was 13,632 pounds of butter. The committees also are to commu nicate with the health officials in Ska mania City relative to some cases known to exist there.
