Cartoonist RuMic hilarity will reign on the top floor of the Commercial club building tomorrow night when the "Prosper County Fair" will be held for the benefit of club members and their friends, both men and women. Tho entertainment, according to the plan's of George W. Klelser and his associates on the ar rangements committee, will be pure fun from start to finish, with every adjunct of a county fair running in full blast. More preparations have been made for this event than for the last function of the kind, "Hungry Gulch 49 Camp." That event, however, was purely a "stag" affair, while this one will be for men and women both. No admission fee will be charged for the fair itself, though the refreshments, patterned after the kind dispensed at every fair, will be on sale. "Ginger City" is the style of the city at which the fair will be held, and W. J. Hofmann has been designated as its mayor. George U Baker Is sheriff of "Pros per County," and a full staff of munici pal and county officials, garbed in the "rube" costumes supposed to prevail at rustic carnivals, will be fund officious ly attending to their arduous duties. Barnes circus, which Is wintering at the Country club. A dance hall will be one feature, and this will be kept going throughout the evening for all who wifeh to trip fan tastically. A great many members of the club have arranged to attend attired in rus tic garb. Just as whole families drive In from the fields to the regular county fairs. This feature Is being worked up by the committees to add mirth and in formality to the occasion. Plan Is to Popularise. It is the plan of the Commercial club's entertainment committee to stimulate the purely social phases of the club's ac tivity iby an occasional frolic of this kind. The club primarily Is a business club, but the officers believe its value to Portland can be increased by making it more a popular organization. That is why this "Prosper County Fair" was outlined.
