Notices have been sent to all the saloonkeepers In the Twelfth Judicial district, Includ Ing Polk, Yamhill and .Tillamook coun ties, by District Attorney Upjohn at Dallas, calling attention to the provi sions of ,J,h new law regulating tne shipment ot intoxicating liquors Into dry territory. Copies of the law were also sent with these notices. Under the provisions qf this act It la reaulred that with each shipment of in toxlcatfng liquor to territory where the sale of liquor is proliibitea Dy law. must go a label' stating the name of the consignee, the consignor, the name and address of the person ordering such liquors, the kind and quality ot lntoxi eating liquors In the package and the name of the place irons ana to wmcn the cackace is being shipped. - The. law grew out of the move started some time ago by Governor West to . stop shipments of liquor to "blind pigs" and other unlicensed and illegal places for the sale of Intoxicating liquor. Under the law, it is easy for a peace officer to determine whether such shipments are being made for legal or illegal purposes. Notices are also being sent by District Attorney Upjohn, with copies of the new law, to sheriffs, marshals, chiefs of police fin the' district relating to the abatement of disorderly houses as nui- ' sances. " :- The new general laws of Oregon for 191 J contain a few acts which particu larly refer to Polk county, according to the district attorney. . In'tue new game code Polk county is placed In district No. 1, with those coun ties lying west of the Cascade moun tains. - , . ' ':, 'T'-'f" "' Another law provides for a state game reservation, to be known as the "Capital Game Reservation," which Is situated In the eastern part of Folk county and the western part of Marlon county. The law has also been changed rela tive to the terms of court in Polk coun ty, under the new law terms of court here are to be on first Monday in Feb ruary, August and November.
