Thirty-five, foot sharks disporting
.themselves in the path of tho Arrow

witnessed by those aboard the steamer,
says Captain Miller.' The Navajo reached
the'Albera dock at 6:30 this, morning
after being' delayed 84 hours on the
way up from San Francisco by a strong
': northwest gale. .
Captain Wilier says that three, huge
sharks, the largest that he has ever
seen so ..far north, played about the
steamer for some time yesterday morn
ing, and he says that all indications
showed they must be at least 85 feet
long., The-captain says that It la very
unusual to see such big fellows in the
cold waters of the north Pacific and
that there must have been something
unusual to attract them. ,
For 60 hours after leaving the Gold-
en Gate, until the Navajo was off Coos
Bay, says Captain Miller, she bucked
a strong northwest gale, which blew
from 40 to 60 miles an hour all the way.
The steamer was delayed somewhat in
her arrlvflT by the blow.
. ' The Navajo brought 17S0 tons of car
go, )50 tons being miscellaneous freight
Bin! tlt rnmalnrlnr MmnL In the. arsn-
