There was only a small run, totals be ing 175 head, compared with 107 last Friday, 81 a year ago, and 176 head this day two years ago. Trading started' out at a brisk pace this morning, and sales of tops in the steer division were made as high as $7.26. The Union Meat company was a buyer at this figure during the morn ing. Puget Sound and British Colum bia interests were likewise operators in the cattle division during the day, but their purchases did not reach the high mark for the day. because there was no more of that stuff available. The market was rather ac tive during the day and prices were held snug' at unchanged figures. Run of hogs for the day was rather fair but local and outside 'killers took hold rather eagerly and everything that cams forward was qUlckly moved. - At Chicago there .was a steady tone In the hog trada with tops remaining at $8.10, the same price as during the last two days. Run for tha day there was 20.000 head, or 500Q less tban on this tiaf B'T-ear ago.-5 - ,'?!'.- - Kansas City also had a good tone in tho hog market this morning.
