Salt Lake City, Utah, Oct. 11. Be cause Chauffeur Edward White told the Salt Lake police that C. A. Inlow, prin cipal of the Bingham (Utahl schools, had entered the home "of Mrs. Mary Jones and had taken some valuable ore samples. White Is dead and Inlow and bis wife are being held for murder here. White was killed- In his taxlcab short ly after midnight Saturday. Two shots fired from behind had ended his life. His body was found a few hours after the tragedy and the school . .principal and Mrs. Inlow were arrested a short time later. - - Inlaw, for seven years a respected resident of Bingham, has a large collec tion of ore samples. LABORER TAKES DRINK, DIES WRETCHED DEATH (Special to Tbo' .lournnl.) Goldendale, Wash.f Oct. 11. Charles Tlee, a laborer employed on the Golden dale street work, died suddenly Tues day night after taking a drink out of a bottle supposed to contain whiskey, just after his return from work. Tioe died in convulsions and an Investigation is being made by Klickitat county au thorities. He was 44 years old and leaves a wife and two children. He was stopping with Ms family at the residence of B. I Finch. After taking a drink out of" the bottle Tice broke It and what the contents were Is not known. Hints of foul play have been made. iiSilE M EU EY United States Supreme Court Expects to Hear It in De cember, According to Word r Sent Attorney General. (Silent Btimv of The Journal.) Salem, Or., Oct. 11. Attorney General Crawford was notified today that the Milwaukle and Oak Grove rate cases, which have been in the courts since 1908, would likely be heard by the Uni ted States supreme court In December. He Is now preparing his briefs. These cases involve rates on the Port land Railway, Light & Power company's lines from Milwaukle to Portland and Oak Grove to Portland. The fare from Milwaukle to First and Alder streets in Portland was 10 cents, without privilege of transfers. The state courts gave a decision in favor of the plaintiff and ordered the fare reduced to 6 cents with transfer privileges The fare between 'Milwaukle Heights, Courtney, Oak Grove,"Center and Rlaley and Portland was 15 cents, without transfers.
