After watching a man for some time Tuesday hlght, Nlghtwatch Suvef hit him with a watch and stopped him, and It wasn't a stop watch, either. A drunk was making himself obnoxious ahd when Suver remonstrated, he drew a bottle and tried to hit the officer over the head. Suver quickly threw his heavy watch man's clock, hitting the man In the jaw, dislocating It and knocking him down. The clock is carried by the night watch man hera and supposed to he "punched" at different call boxes around town, but it seems the clock had a punch of its own that time. A novel "con traption" In tlie nature of an auto-wagon passed through Coqullle Tuesday en route to Ban Hon and points down the coast. The vehicle contained five pas sengers and a. complete camping outfit and came over the Roseburg-Myrtle Point stage road. The trip was to try out the ear, wftieh was run over a rough road but had no serious accident or breakdown. D. L. Prior, and builder of the vehicle, says It would iiave worked even better if fnore bains had been taken on Its construction. The conveyance Is con structed from the four wheels and bed of an ordinary wagon, into which has been placed an automobile engine of four cylinders. .
