It was Just another of those weeks when three or four friends Joined forces for the theatre, a game of bridge or in . formal luncheon. The one really large . event was the subscription dance Friday evening, which proved to be the most delightful of any so far given. - The at tendance was large, very large, and : many attractive gowns were lh evidence. The wedding of Miss Meta Buehner and ' Kobert Noble claimed the attention of society the first of the week, as did Anna Held at the Hellig. An event brll- Hunt socially as well as musically Is "The Girl of the Golden West" grand 'opera engagement at the Hellig this week. Society is planning to be there In ; full force for all of the performances at least such society as still remains In town, for this is the month when tho wanderlust claims and the travelers are many, w 'Miss Katherine MacMaster and Miss V touts Burns shared honors at a charm ing luncheon given Wednesday by Mrs. - J. Many Portland people will be Inter ested In the betrothal announcement of Baroness Margarets von Witsleden of Medrow, Pome ran la, nd Baron Gustave von Hagenow, "her cousin. His estate, Langenfelde, adjoins that of the Baro ness and Is only three hours from Ber lin. No date has been given out --for the wedding. The Baroness was a much complimented guest of Miss Margaret Montgomery three years ago. The Philip Buehner home was the scene of a second pretty wedding when Dr. John Cudllpp read the service last evening which made Miss Meta Buehner the bride of Robert P. Noble, The vows were exchanged in the drawing room with its beautiful decorations of pink chrysanthemums and Easter lilies. The bride came in on the arm of her father and her brother, Henry Buehner, played the wedding march. Khe wore the same wedding robe of sliver brocaded satin with Burano lace, which gowned her sister. Airs. George Bailor, at her recent wedding. The veil was the same and her bouquet was also orchids and lilies of the valley. Miss Lillian Buehner was the maid of honor. Her gown was fashioned of batiste embroidered net over green satin and her flowers were pink roses. Little Misses Jane Talbot and Ann Elisabeth Warren were the flower girls. They were f rocked in white lingerie with pink sashes and hair 'ribbons. They carried baskets of pink posies. Carl Wernicke was again the best man as he was for Mr. Sailor. Between 100 and 150 guests attended the wedding and reception. The ball end music room were decorated with red carnations and the dining room was srrucea wun menmona roses ana rea shaded candelabra. Mrs. Guy W. Tal bot, Mrs. Frank M. Warren Jr., Mrs. Donald B. Munro and Mrs. C. U. Gan tenbeln presided at the table, assisted by Miss Leslie Weldler, Miss Claire giOon and Miss Elisabeth Beno. of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mr, and Mra Noble left last evening for Chicago where they will make their home for the next year or two. Miss Cornelia Uook caught-the "bride's bouquet.
