'Well," remarked Walter McCredle, the manager who, Is fighting hardest for the pennant this year, at the billiard parlors yeaterday during a lull In the fanning, "If I can't win the Cbaat league pennant this year. Ivwould rather see Happy Hogan take the flag HAn any Other manager. That might seem strange, but Happy has been working nig head off to get up near the top and his hard work deserves some of thu fruits of victory. There are thousands of fans all over the circuit pulling for Happy. Down south they seem to look upon the Oakland club, except at home, as a bunch of upstarts. I don't know why this should prevail, but that Is hu man nature, I guess. In San Francisco they are pulljng for Vernon and Port land as against Oakland figuring that the Seals are out of the race. We have always been strong In tha city." No Games in Northwestern. Rains caused the postponement of all Northwestern league ball games yester day and double-headers will be played this afternoon, provided the weather permits. Taooma and Vancouver teams have been unable to play one of the sched uled games this week, and will have to play doubli-headers today, Saturday and Sunday, In order to get half way through their schedule. Spokane has played two games with the Bees, and has lost both. 1 Baclgalupo Released. John Bassey, former Portland player, has been released by Manager Mike Lynch of the Tacoma Tigers.
