At an Impressive and interesting con test for the Staples cup' between the de gree teams of Woodlawn Lodge No. 171 and Orient Lodge No. 17 Woodlawn won tha championship of the Oddfellow world. The contest took place last, Tuesday night at the Masonic temple, West park. and Tamhlll streets. There were about 1600 Oddfellows present. Many of 'them were delegates to the Grand Lodge of Oregon which was In sessfon here for three days last week. This beautiful silver loving cup was given by Isaac T. Staples, the jeweler, as a trophy to be contested for by the first degree team of any lodge of Odd Fellows. This cup was first won by the first degree team of Hassalo lodge No. 16 of this' city during the meeting of the Sovereign Grand Lodge at the A. T. P. exposition, Seattle, Septem ber 21, 1909. The next contestant for the cup was the degree team of the Orient Lodge No. 17 of this city March 4, 1911, at the Masonic Temple.
