' "I v have been informed that he was here on Sun day. Myers could not possibly hop to escape the warrant which has been la : sued. , He has a family and murt take care of It " In doing this he cannot es cape detection." ' Members of the detective department 1 are continuing their search for the banker, but have obtained no clue. He has a number of friends In the city and It is suspected that he is concealed In the home of one of them, the fact that he was not at his own residence at' 681 Gltsan street having been established by the search made yesterday. 5 The shades at the Myers home this morning were dowrr and there was no answer to rings ot the door bell -or tele phone calls. Judge Munly declalred that "It is a conspiracy to Klernanlse the port of Portland." The committee of SO will take action to lay. bare the. Whole scheme, added Judge Munly. i v In an Interview with a Journal repre. sentatlve at Kalama, Wash., today Cap tain Crowe reiterated that 'the Chamber of ' Commerce had nothing to do with compelling him to resign from the port commission and' added that his ' reason for resigning was because of Wheel wright and Alnsworth,' who refused to serve with him, or to serve at all on the commission if he did not resign. Judge Munly said that Captain Crowe's insurance business had been threatened end that in other .ways his personal In terests were, menaced if he perslpted in keeping the governor's appointment 1 - Judge Munly also, on behalf of the committee of SO, charged the Chamber of Commerce with having violated an agreement made with the committee. He said that W. B. Ayer, Henry Ladd Cor bett and Dr.' Andrew C Smith had con ferred with the committee as represen tatives of the chamber and said that the old : port commission, of which C. -F.
