When we opened our present store itw the noblest business structure in the northwest When we open our new store it will be the foremost store in the west in many respects. A beautiful, clean, white terra cotta building, the first one erected in Portland, covering an entire block without divisions. It provides a thoroughly modern store with unequaled equipment. The comfort and convenience of visitors, the economy, of transacting business, have been the chief objects. The ventilating plant changes and washes the air of the entire building every 20 minutes. There are t six large Otis, hydraulic plunger elevators, the safest and most re- liable made, and two dummy elevators. A double spiral package , r chute extends from top floor to basement, giving quick delivery of packages from all floors. The cash and charges will be handled by a new National Cash Register device, the best and quickest swvice known.
