V, - ' The chief dimensions of the steamer are 820 feet long over all, and 43 feet from rail to rail, with a depth of 18 feet to the main deck. Carrying the largest number of pas sengers that she has yet taken south, the San Francisco & Portland steamer Bear, Captain " Nopander, sailed , this morning for the Bay City. She had 290 passengers and her cargo amounted to 2300 tons. ' ' -:" t The other new steamer belonging 'to the San Francisco ft Portland Steamship company, the Beavtr, Captain Kldston, will arrive here Monday afternoon on her first trip to this port with pas sengers. On her second trip out of here July 2, she has already had a number of accommodations , booked by people, who are going to Ban Francisco to see the Jeffries-Johnson fight.
