The account wa squared to th smallest de tail and the courts will hear no more of the famous damage case. v-v;'',f'nVoi$aooiooo. The trial of the case has become one of the memorable events of recent .court history. Mrs. Gadsby, a bride of little more than two years, sued for J200.000 damages, alleging that . her domestic happiness had been destroyed by the interference of Captain Gadsby and his wife. Counter charges were made that the separation was due to aisgracerui conduct on the part or ueorge n. father of Mrs. Gadsby. but the Jury did not accept that theory of the case, and after a trial lasting more than a week returned a verdict for the plaintiff for $8000. At the conclusion of the case the jurors expressed the hope that the young people may settle their differ ences and said that the damages had been fixed at a low figure in th be lief that Captain Gadsby would pay th Judgment and not appeal. This hope on the part of the Jury has been justified by the new turn of affairs. Breakdown of Counsel. ' On . feature of th case wa the nervous breakdown of John F. Logan, chief counsel for Captain Gadsby. who is now In California for the purpose of regaining hi health. His colleagues In tha trial were James Gleason and I. N. Smith, who ' made a hard fight for a directed verdict for their clients. Judge Morrow tried the case, and the at torneys for" Mrs. Gadsby were ex-Senator C. W. Fulton, C M. Idleman and J. V. Beach.
