McCoy in which the plaintiff seeks to nave a value placed on a strip of land through the defendant's tract at Hood River required for- an Irrigation ditch. The ditch was built some time ago, but the Irrigation company and McCoy have never been able D get to an agreement as to the value of the land covered bv the ditch. The big temperance battles in unto. which have made 80 per cent of the state dry. have bean fought and won within the nast six year, and every campaign during these year has been planned .and executed by Wayne B. Wheeler, atate superintendent of the Anti-Saloon league who ha been con nected with the orsanlsatlon continu ously since 1824. Mr. Wheeler has not only drafted Ohio temperance legislation, but has de fended these law in the court, in cluding the supreme court of the United States.
