There are more than 10.000 new offices .which Were .established by congress at the last session. - However, It abolished over S0OO . others, leaving a.net gain of about 4000, with an outlay above last year amounting to tome $8,000,000. .1. But there are those who-are akeD tical about the government being able - to economise. It was recently announced that the naval budget would be trimmed to the extent of nearly S10.ooo.ooo.
