Rowan, according to the testimony of the latter on the stand in " Judge Gantenbeln's department of the circuit' court, where Rowwn aecured a divorce this morning on ttye ground of desertion. He aald tliut While h was living la Pendleton In 1902 his wife came to Portland on a visit, and when she returned she re fused to live longer with him, telling him that either he or she must go. He went. They were married in Prlnevllle in September. 1884. Robert O. Gilllland, by profession an attornejr, was pronounced no good" by Mrs. Caroline Gilllland, and because of his failure to support her ' and final desertion she was granted ' a divorce. She said her husband practiced in Kan sas, but not after coming to Oregon. In 'all eight divorces were granted this morning, flve to women and three to men who drew the wrong cards In the marriage lottery. All but two of the eases were brought on the ground of desertion, cruelty supplying the motif in two eases. t Mrs. Mary O. Krebs waa freed from Edmund Krebs, whom she married in Sheldon.
