That there were many who had re

"The Land of Nod" tells about a lit- f
tie girl who goes to sleep and wakes up',
in fairy land in that particular being ;
just llKe every otner extravaganxa ever
written. When she wakes up she finds
herself near the palace of the King of
Hearts. And things begin to happen,
greatly to her delight and to ours. The
telephone man conies In and rings a
bell. The weather man makes himself
as obnoxious as weather men usually
do. The Chorus Girl flirts in and out.
The Jack of Hearts, a lovely person
with a soprano voice and blonde hair
carols about her lost heart; the Welsh
Rarebit jumps out of the chafing dish
and Into the firing line of the king's
hunger: and all the time Bonnie, the lit
tle girl who went to sleep. Is having
most delicious spasms of amazement.
There are some reasonably good
dances for those who like them, there
are some songs In the regular Joe
Howard style, there are jokes for the
simple-minded and epigrams for the
worldly wise. There seem to be no
reason why "The Land of Nod" should
not have a good week of it at the Baker.
