WEATHER REKpT
There has been a marked fall in
Jiressure over British Columbia ana a
ow pressure area is central north- of
the Dakotas. A third low pressure
area of considerable strength overlies
the north Atlantic states. A large high
pressure area occupies the middle and
western portions of the United States:
it has twe crests, one being central
ever the Great Salt Lake basin, and
the other over Kansas. Cloudiness has
Inereased in the north Pacific states,
and rain has fallen in extreme north
west Washington, and light snow has
fallen in - northeastern Washington.
Bnow has also occurred in the Canadian
northwest and at scattered places in
the northern states east of the Rocky
mountains, except along the Atlantic
coast, where the precipitation was in
the form of rain and unusually heavy
in eastern Tennessee,- northern Georgia
and Virginia. Zero temperatures pre
vail in Minnesota, enstern South Da-
kota and eastern Nebraska, but It is
much warmer in Montana and North
Dakota, and slightly wanner nearly
everywhere In th north Pacific states.
The indications are for rain la this
district tonight and Tuesday.

One half of a boy' or girl's world is formed
by what they read. No other factor plays
so. large a part in their future welfare.
Good Reading is an absolute essential in a child's life.
Without it there can be slight progress. .
Good Reading stimulates the imagination, implants
higher standards and exerts a refining influence that can
be secured in no other way.
Good Reading provides the happiest hours of child
hood while laying the foundations of character.
St. Nicholas is the One Great
Magazine for Children
IN 1909 Colosed pictures by W. W. Deaalow, illustrator of
"The Wizard of Ox,'' In every Dumber. . Seriaf stories by France '
, Hodgson Burnett, Ralph Henry Barbour, and other well-known
writers. " Historic Boyhoods" is a series alone worth tha price of
; the magazine, and another is Rebecca : Harding Davit's bits of
wisdom and timely suggestions. Children contribute to the "St
Nicholas League" and get priies erery month for etaj, poems, draw
ings, photograph!, etc. Nature and Science" is a department
which interest and educates. Mothers will appreciate the pages
" For Very Little Folk." r- And there it plenty of fun in every number.
