Prices on eastern eggs infthe local market are again snowing an advance. Some of the Front street handlers put up the quotation lc a dosen this morning and even at the advance are le below the figures asked in some quarters. . Eastern egsre are selling at all sorts of prices In the local wholesale market at this time with the top for storage stock v ait 84a and the low point for the same roods at 30c Those selling at the low mark are showing every indication of vhoving up their prices to meet those of the more distant ones. The scarcity of offerings In local ranch eggs Is one ' of the causes of the renewed activity In eastern stock and the advancing - prices therein. Along Front street the arrivals of home goods have been very scant during the pant few days and , many, have been unable to purchase fresh stock. While the price of our best eggs remains at 40o a dosen the Indications are that the market will do better in this regard unless ttrtre should be a change In the volume of arrivals. Dressed Meats Are Tery linn. There is a very firm tone in the local market for dressed meats of all kinds. Even hogs are showing a firmer tone - -with the cooler weather and the better demand therefrom, but as yet mere naa been no change in prices because of the m temporary weakness In the live hog market. TJreaaed veal Is showing excel - - lent quality for most arrivals and tire market is firmer at xop prices. " Chickens Kay. Do Better.
