Gorgeously splen did weather has given Newport a sec ond season. Last week's rain and chill drove many campers - and - cottagers homeward, but the balmy airs now blowing are detaining all who lingered and the r.ew crowd, bent on trolling and hunting, is steadily coming in. The bay has been glassy the past few days and launching, boating and clam ming parties are the fad of the hour. Besides the excursions on the bay, the ooean has been smooth enough to tempt many seaward and Thursday and Fri day large parties tried a few hours on the Pacific. Hunting Is now to the fore. Several parties have been south this week and as many, probably, north. From both directions excellent luck Is reported, specially In the line of beer, which seem to be very plentiful this year- One Portland hunter has been expert enough to catch a deer alive. The man who performed this feat is Glenn Howell, who caugnt. Dare nanaea, a spotted rawn lit the surf near Beaver creek. The hotels are preparing for a large fall season and will keen onen at least until October. After carefully looking over the winter's prospects several of the hotels are thinking of runnlag. all winter to accommodate the many people who -tnioy Newport as a resort during that season. r Za Social Circle. A Jolly crowd of people boarded the launch Rone Thursday- afternoon and went to Oystervllle, five miles up the river from Newport, where they spread a delicious luncheon on shore under the trees and whlled the hours away very pleasantly. Those present were: Dr. and Mrs. D. A. Mclntyre, Airs. J. L. Hastings, Mrs. J. L, Hastings, Mr. Franklyn P. Lane. Mrs. Russell, Mrs. J. F. Wilson, Miss Lena Harwas and Miss Frances Gal lagher. Every muscle, nerve, bone and joint absorbs the acrid, pain-producing poison, causing aches, inflammation, stiffness and other.well known symptoms of the disease. Permanent relief from the pains and discomfort of Rheumatism cannot b expected from the use of liniments, plasters, and other external treatment which does not reach the blood, where the cause is located. Such measures give temporary relief, but in order to cure Rheumatism the uric acid and inflammatory poison must be expelled from the blood. S. S. S. cures Rheumatism because it is a perfect blood purifier. It eoes down into th 1 circulation, neutralizes the uric acid and drives it from the blood. S. S. S. j expels the irritating, inflammatory matter which is causing the pain, swell- ing and other discomfort, enriehes the weak, sour blood, and permanently cures Rheumatism. In all forms of Rheumatism, whether acute or chronic, S. S. S. will be found a safe, vegetable remedy, possessing the properties needed to cure, and at the same time a medicine that builds up the entire system by its fine tonic effects. Book on Rheumatism and any medical advice free to all who write.
