Norwegian Steamer Tliyra and Brit

Two new vessels were added to the
Hat for Portland this morning. One is
the Norwegian steamer Thyra and the
other the British bark Glenalvon. Both
are well known here. The Glenalvon
arrived in Kurope only a few days ago
from this oort with a cargo or wheat.
The Thyra will come here fromvVan
couver. B. C, in ballast to load lumber
for Adelaide. Australia. She will prob
ably receive; part cargo at mnis on
lower Columbia river. To Vancouver,
B. C, the Thyra will r4rry a cargo of
raw sugar from Sourobaya. Java.
The Glenalvon Is expected to bring
a cargo of cement and general freight
from Antwerp and to take wheat for
a return cargo home early next spring.
DREDGE FOR COOS BAY.
Secretary of War Grants Permission

Engineer Corps, received a letter this
morning from the secretary of the war
department granting the request for
permission to send the new govern
ment dredge to t'oos Hay. .
The dredge was completed a few days
ago at Greenwich docx, where the' fin
ishing touches have been put on and will
be ready to start for Coos -as soon as
a tug can be secured to take It in tow.
