Frances Lewis' horse will also be en
tered. The Ainsworths and the Misses
Flanders are already there and several
Pfvrtlanders summering ur north will
time their homecoming to be in Seattle
at the time. The Hirsches, Mr. and
Mrs. F. G. Buffum. Mrs. Sarah Forbes,
Mrs. A. 8. Norton and Mrs. McRae will
be other Portland visitors there.
Mrs. G. O. Wold and her daughters
ef Eugene arrived yesterday to spend a
few days at Elton Court. Later In the
week they will leave for the twist, Miss
Jean Wold to go to New York, Mrs.

marriage was one of the prettiest of
the June weddings.
Mrs. Kent and her daughter. Miss
Louise Kent returned to town Monday
and have taken apartments at Elton
Court for the winter. They spent the
summer In the country and have returned
much Improved in health and in spite
of the runaway accident they had which
disabled the trap hut by an almost

some time In Astoria as the guest of
her sister, Mrs. Eakin.
Pr. and Mrs. C B. Brown and their
son Hoyt have returned from Seaside
after a month's stay tlrre. They have
taken apartments at the Cornelius and
will later go into their pretty home at
Fourteenth anil Salmon streets The
past year It has been occupied by half
a dozen young men from the Canadian
bank who kept bachelor apartments.
Miss Lela Goddard Is entertaining
Miss Mabel Cooper of Independence,
who was her classmate a year ago in
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moehnke of Wil
lamette entertained about 50 of their
friends .at their home last Sunday In
honor of their son August's birthday.
During: the afternoon the Oregon City
band, of which Mr. Moehnke is a mem
ber, played selections. At 6 o'clock
dinner was served in the dining-room,
which was prettily decorated In sweet
peas and asters. Miss Lydia Vallp, Mrs.
K. A. France and Mrs. M. A. Nixon as
sisted Mrs. Moehnke. At 7 o'clock the
guests all retired to the banks of the
Willamette where the band embarked on
Mr. Moehnke's steam launch and gave
aeveral selections. The invited guests
