spoiled his plan. His brothers, Frank
and Billy, were in the same show, one
a bareback rider and the other a tumb

too often to make a success at it. Ulti

At times he took up clowning and he
(stuck to circuses until in 3 861 he turned
up at the Broadway Music Hall as a
comic singer. In 1SC1 lie went to the
famous 444 Broadway and in the war
time he aroused enthusiasm by appear- j
ing on the stage with a big flag and
urging every one to join with him In
singing "The Star Spangled Banner."
Here It was that he saw the future of
vaudeville. Variety shows at that time
were a little too coarso for family con

Pastor decided to branch out as a man

higher plane. Ills money; went into the

to attend. He was a vaudeville manager!
always after that.
Success didn't come without-a lot of!
hard work, but it arrived finally and in I

Pastor also introduced the first ver

presentation of "Pinafore" at the old
theatre. In 1KS1 he moved his theatre

Since yesterday morning a small dis
till bailee has made its appearance off
the Washington coast, and the low pres
sure aria over Manitoba has remained
nearly stationary. The barometer Is
relatively low over Arizona and New
Mexico. The high pressure area yester
day over the north Pacific states has
contracted in area and moved to Wyo
ming, and a new. high pressure area has
made its appearance off the north Cali
fornia coast. The large high pressure
area over the Canadian province of On
tario has remained nearly stationary,
and the low area over the south Atlantic
states has disappeared. Light rain has
fallen In western Washington, northern
Arizona, northern New Mexico and In
the Atlantic states from Boston south
to Charleston. It is warmer in the
north pacific states, and much cooler
in eastern Colorado, western Nebraska,
eastern South linkota and northern Min
nesota. Elsewhere the temperature
changes have been unimportant. The
Indications are for rain Friday, except
In southern Idaho, where fair weather
will probably continue.
