Philadelphia, Aug. 18. An autopsy was performed yesterday ypon the body cf Mrs. Anna Bjule of Darby, who died Saturday at tm Philadelphia hospital from hydrophobia, for the purpose of preserving the brain and spinal col umn for a microscopical examination meant to aid the medical profession in its fight against the disease. , Dr. William G. Shields Jr. of Ger mantown had the brain and spinal col umn sealed and turned them over to the bacteriological department of the hospital. The doctors there will begin the examination today. This was the first case of hydropho bia in Philadelphia for years. Mrs. Rule was bitten by a puppy nine months ago. Several days ago she began to show symptoms of rabies. Dr. L. D. Frescoln, assistant chlof resident of the hospital, hopes some thing may be found that will give a clue to a possible successful treatment of the disease. It will take several days to complete the examination, and the outcome is watched for by medical "men in general with great interest. Lewis Goldstein, 170 Seventeenth street. 35, and Mustrell E.
