Honesty and ambition are synonymous of success and the young person pos- essea or mem win succeed. Duty well done Is always a' source of consolation to those who do not succeed as well as they expected, while on the other hand It is always a cause of sorrow when ws find we failed "in & good purpose through apathy. Energy Counts. The energetic boy embraces every op portunity to better his condition. Many boys become degenerates simply through Idleness and Indlfferentlsm. They get o careless and so laxy that they will not exert themselves to the extent of walking arcoss the street to earn an honeat dollar and finally plan to steal and rob rather than do honest work. It Is a noble character In a 'boy or girl to see him or her striving honorably to suoceed In life, and auoh young peo ple are respected In the community and should get hearty encouragement. Neither the heat nor the rain will kopp ambitious boya or alrla from at taining the object of their ambition. Nor will nleaaure Interfere much with their work when they are fully de termined to aucceed with any under taking They will atrlve oo and on and they will have the laugh on their oompanlona at the close of The Jour nal a contest.
