' Judge Gantenbein yesterday sustained
in part the demurrer to the complaint
of Clenath L, Goodrich against the city
of St. John, in which an effort is be
ing made to collect 84.063, alleged to be
due to the plaintiff as administrator of
the estate of William W. Goodrichwho
was for years the pity -engineer. The
court held, however, that the fact that
Goodrich had not given bond did not
affect his standing as an officer during
the time the alleged services were per
formed, and thai court will allow the
case to go to trial on one of the
causes of action.
