John Lamb, physical director of the Salem Y. M. C. A., who received his training In the Portland as sociation, is one of the notable figures in pushing things along. Lamb has already made himself known In the capital by his engineering of the base ball league for professional and business ; men. - j ' . . ;,. .--. The conference will devote a large part of its time to physlca work under Physical Director Grilley and different phates of the work of a physical direc tor are oeing nanaiea oy various speaa- ers. Dr. Harry Start of Portland speaks on physical examination, at the same time embracing kindred subjects as the restoration of life to the apparently drowned. His classes are marked with a considerable amount of enthusiasm owing to the encouragement he gjves to the men to express their own Ideas, whether In agreement with his own or not. Several members of the Portland T. M. C. A. are preparing for immediate work in outside Y. M. C. A. a. among them John Hessemer who has consist ently been one of the most popular and best known men in the association building. He goes to take up work at Roslyn City, Wash., Julv 1. His loss will be one felt at the association, for while Hessemer has never been unduly prominent In athletics he has been one of those plodding, consistent men that have helped to hold things together when thov rot to r raved edees. . When asked about his work, Hesse mer said, "Sly ideal is work lor men. man should take up the line of work for wnlch be Is most fitted whatever It be. These methods are a radical de parture from tho ordinary medical .practice, which attempts to cure every 111 of mankind by stomach drugging and thus kills more people than are cured. In my1 practice, J do not drug the stomach at . all, but I apply heading medi cines of my own directly to the diseased region, and thus effect a complete and permanent cure In a very short time. My treatment never falls, si my unbroken record, covering a period of over 20 yeans, fully proves. Don't be practiced and experimented upon by physicians, druggists, elec tric belts and incompetent specialists. My large practice and quick, thorough methods enable me . to cure Men's Diseases In half the time and about one-fourth the usual fees asked. , . My guarantee is: .. ' NOT A DOLLAR NEED NO STIMULANTS FOR WEAKNESS" r My' success In permanentlr curing that condition commonly known j as "weakness" fully demonstrates the absolute correctness of my : method of treatment, which is a method- employed by myself alone. I do not stimulate the functions to temporary activity by the use of strong Internal medicines. This is the -course commonly pursued by both general practitioners and spe cialists, and is a treatment that cannot possibly result in a permanent cure. "Weakness"" Is merely a symptom of chronic inflammation In the prostate gland brought on by excesses, early dissipation or by the Improper treatment of some contracted disease. A complete and radical cure Is therefore a ques tion of restoring the prostate gland to Its normal state, and this I accomplish promptly and -completely without the use of Internal remedies. My treat ment is a local one entirely. It is original and scientific, and has been proved absolutely effective by thousands of tests. I am convinced that by no other method can full and permanent restoration of strength and vigor be accomplished. . ..".. CONTRACTED DISORDERS The serious results that may follow neglect Of ; contracted diseases could scarcely be exaggerated. Safety demands an absolutely thorough cure In the least possible time I have treated more cases of contracted disorders than any other physician upon the Pacific coast My cures are thorough and are accomplished In less time than other forms of treatment require in producing even doubtful resulta I employ remedies of my own devising and mv treatment is equally effective In both recent and chronic cases. . . . VARICOCELE There is no necessity for surgical operations In the treatment of Varicocele. This disease yields completely to my mild and painless method, and results are far better than were ever attained by the harsh and dangerous practice of cutting.
