After the debate the ordinance was re commended for passage, Uriacoll said that his life has been n.b.la mlaor.hla tnr th nut two Weeks by saloonkeepers who have endeavored to keep him from pushing the ordinance through. He ald that these same men told him that they favored the ordinance whf.ii it first came ut and now Drlscoll is trying to find out what, caused -the change of heart. . ; m It appeared to the members of the liquor license committee when they held their hearings ' on complaints against ealoonkeepers last winter that the cause of most of the trouble was due to the fact that women were allowed In sa loons. -In order to stop the trouble Drls coll's ordinance was drawn and it is ex pected that It will pass , the council tomorrow morning, . ? 1 -, : City Attorney Kavanaugh saia tne measure was constitutional ana tnai in his estimation It would keep women out of saloons. - The change of the sa loon men from favoring the measure to opposing it came as a great surprise to the committee members, but they did not hesitate in voting to recommend the measure for passage. ,.: ',..;.r DR.
